Anastasia Carbonari Steps Up to WorldTour with UAE Team ADQ for 2024

Anastasia Carbonari, the Latvian national champion, has been promoted to the WorldTour ranks, joining UAE Team ADQ from the 2024 season. Raised in Italy but competing under Latvian colours, the 24-year-old has shown impressive form over the past year, leading to this significant career advancement.

Carbonari’s journey began in the UAE Development Team, where she showcased her talent by clinching the Latvian National Road Championship title for two consecutive years. Her 2023 season was marked by notable achievements, including a win in the Team Time Trial at Trofeo Ponente in Rosa and a runner-up finish at the Umag Trophy Ladies in Croatia.

Recognised for her strong team ethos, Carbonari frequently took on breakaway roles and worked diligently for her teammates. Her skills were further highlighted during her stints with UAE Team ADQ in 2023, where she demonstrated the maturity and racing interpretation that earned her a place in the WorldTour team.

Reacting to her promotion, Carbonari expressed profound joy and gratitude, seeing it as the culmination of her long-held dream and the sacrifices made by her and her family. Her excitement was doubled with the confirmation of her participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics with the Latvian national team.

Reflecting on a challenging previous year marked by a serious injury and fluctuating performances, Carbonari is now focused on the future. She eagerly anticipates the first training camp, aiming to learn from past experiences and grow with the support of UAE Team ADQ.
