Daily highlights of the Vuelta a España will be available free-to-air in the UK this year, with TNT Sports confirming that the one-hour package will be broadcast each evening on Quest. The Spanish Grand Tour begins on Saturday in Italy, with live coverage shown exclusively on TNT Sports 1 and 3 as well as on the discovery+ streaming platform.
While live coverage won’t match the full-stage broadcasts of the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France, TNT Sports has committed to showing at least 75 hours of live racing across the 21 stages. The race is set to feature big names including Jonas Vingegaard, Tom Pidcock, and João Almeida.
For fans without a subscription, Quest will air daily highlights from 7-8pm in the UK. Short-form highlights will also be made available via TNT Sports’ YouTube channel and on social media. ITV previously provided highlights of the Vuelta alongside its Tour de France coverage, but that arrangement has ended.
Scott Young, EVP of Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, underlined the broadcaster’s ambitions: “An incredible Grand Tour season continues to unfold and we are privileged to have another three weeks of epic and unpredictable racing ahead of us featuring some of the most inspiring athletes anywhere. This is not the final chapter in this monumental season however. We have the greatest collection of world-class races and a year-round approach to storytelling, and following just seven days after La Vuelta, we will be in Rwanda covering a historic Road World Championships.”
Viewers in the UK will also see a familiar presentation team. Orla Chennaoui will front The Breakaway, joined by Adam Blythe and Robbie McEwen as pundits. Rob Hatch and Sean Kelly will provide commentary, while Anders Mielke reports from inside the race.
It marks the third Grand Tour covered live by TNT Sports since Eurosport closed down, though unlike earlier this year there will be no multi-screen viewing options and ad-free streaming has now disappeared. Even so, the addition of free-to-air highlights ensures fans can still follow the drama of the Vuelta each day, regardless of subscription status.
