Everything is Ready for the Seasonal Debut at the Trofeo Citta Di Ceriale

Less than 48 hours to the highly anticipated seasonal debut of the Aromitalia – Basso Bikes – Vaiano team, which in the late morning of Saturday 27 February will line up at the starting line of the first edition of the “Trofeo Città di Ceriale”. The event, strongly desired by the Loabikers Sports Group of the passionate president Piernicola Pesce, will be staged on the Ligurian roads of Ceriale, a municipality located in the fascinating Riviera delle Palme, at the eastern end of the Albenga plain, in the province of Savona.

The multi-titled technicians Paolo Baldi and Matteo Ferrari have summoned five fierce athletes: the sisters Letizia and Giada Borghesi, the latter making her debut in the highest category, the mighty Tuscan long-distance runner Gemma Sernissi, the Veronese from Tregnago Valentina Scandolara, returning to competitions with the team shirt of patron Stefano Giugni, and the Lithuanian champion Rasa Leleivyte. 

“We are ready to restart with the usual grit and determination, despite the serious pandemic that is undoubtedly still affecting our lives – underlined Stefano Giugni – I would like to thank our precious sponsors and commercial partners, who have decided once again to support us with a lot of commitment and renewed passion. I am sure that our girls will best honor the uniform of the Aromitalia Basso Bikes Vaiano team that they will wear in the most important national and international competitions, starting from the first edition of the City of Ceriale Trophy.”

The meeting is set at 9:30 in via Armando Diaz, in Ceriale (SV), while the checkered flag, which will kick off the competition reserved for the elite category, will be lowered at 13:00 o’clock. 97 the total kilometres of the race, characterised by an initial long-range stretch 80 kilometres long, with the climbs of Ranzo, Pieve di Teco and Coasco, and by three final laps of 5.7 kilometres, with the insidious climb towards the GPM of Peagna, who will undoubtedly make the decisive selection. The finish line, located on the Ceriale seafront, in via Armando Diaz, will see the winner pass through at about 3:40 pm.
