INEOS Grenadiers have confirmed the signing of Dorian Godon, bringing the reigning French road race champion into their squad on a contract that runs through 2028. The 29-year-old arrives with a proven record across the Classics and stage races, adding experience and tactical sharpness to the British team’s line-up.
Godon enjoyed a career-defining moment in June when he pulled on the tricolore jersey in Les Herbiers, winning the French national championships for the first time. That result added another prestigious entry to a palmarès that already included Brabantse Pijl and Giro del Veneto in 2023, back-to-back Paris-Camembert victories, and a series of stage wins in smaller races that underlined his versatility.
The move gives INEOS Grenadiers an all-rounder who thrives in tough, unpredictable racing. Godon has repeatedly shown his ability to handle attritional days and then finish them off with a decisive sprint from reduced groups. His strengths complement a roster that has often looked to young riders and climbers for results, providing an option who can shape and win one-day races while also contributing to Grand Tour depth.
Reflecting on the transfer, Godon spoke of pride at both the timing and the trust placed in him. “It is an honour to sign with the INEOS Grenadiers. For me it means a lot, and signing a multi-year deal is a real show of trust, which I value deeply. This feels like the start of an exciting new chapter in my career, and I’m ready to make the most of it. I want to make the French champion’s jersey – and the moustache – shine. The past few months I’ve watched the team racing with strength and unity in the bunch, and that’s really inspired me. I can’t wait to be a part of that.”
INEOS Grenadiers’ performance director Scott Drawer welcomed the signing as a valuable addition for the team’s ambitions across multiple fronts. “Dorian is a smart, decisive winner with the robustness to shape hard races and the speed to finish them off. His ability to read chaotic finales, position efficiently and deliver gives us excellent options across a wide variety of races. We’ll integrate him quickly with clear targets for the spring and stage races to come and really look forward to having him join the team.”
