Cofidis have confirmed the signing of Jenthe Biermans, who will race with the team for the next two seasons. The 29-year-old Belgian brings proven sprinting strength, valuable Classics experience, and the versatility to serve both as a lead-out rider and a winner in his own right.
Biermans has enjoyed success in recent years with three professional victories to his name. He announced himself at the Muscat Classic in February 2023, followed that with a stage win at the Tour de Luxembourg later that year, and most recently prevailed in a small group finish at the Route Adรฉlie de Vitrรฉ in March 2024. His record underlines his profile as a rider capable of winning tough sprints, often in reduced groups.
The Belgian has also been a consistent performer throughout 2025, recording top-10 finishes across a range of 1.1 races. He was 2nd at the Muscat Classic, 4th at both the Tour de Finistรจre and Le Samyn, and 5th at La Roue Tourangelle. He also placed 6th at the Route Adรฉlie and in a stage of the Arctic Race of Norway, 8th at both the Grand Prix Criquielion and another Arctic stage, and 10th at the Gran Premio Castellรณn. These results highlight his reliability in a wide variety of one-day races and underline why Cofidis have moved to secure his services.
Biermans is expected to play a key role in supporting Milan Fretin in Cofidisโ sprint ambitions, while also taking his own opportunities when they arise. He is comfortable in the hustle of fast finishes but equally strong in tougher finales, where attrition leaves only a select group to contest victory.
Speaking about his move, Biermans said: โIโm very happy to join this team, which is well-known and has a great history. I had some great years at Arkรฉa-B&B Hรดtels, and Iโd like to thank the entire team for my adventure with them. I like the French mentality, and thatโs one of the reasons why I accepted the Cofidis challenge. I really like the project that Cรฉdric Vasseur wants to build. I like being able to help Milan (Fretin) perform in the sprints, but also to try my luck when the opportunities arise. Iโm a sprinter, but I like tough finishes in small groups or on hills. And like many Belgian riders, I really like the Classics, with a soft spot for Paris-Roubaix!โ
General Manager Cรฉdric Vasseur echoed his enthusiasm: โWe are very happy to have the opportunity to welcome Jenthe to the Cofidis team for the next two seasons. He is a very talented rider who will quickly find his place in the group. His arrival is also excellent news for Milan Fretin, who will have a new and powerful reinforcement in the sprint finishes. Jenthe and Milan will be able to work together to help Cofidis win. Jenthe also has a strong racing culture in Belgium, which is so special, and he will also be tasked with aiming for the Classics. We are delighted to be able to count on his experience and his human qualities to give new impetus to the group.โ
Alongside his sprinting role, Biermansโ history in the Classics stands out. He has already raced Paris-Roubaix eight times and will now bring that wealth of experience to Cofidis as they aim to strengthen their competitiveness across all terrains.
