Lidl-Trek has secured the long-term future of Jonathan Milan, announcing that the Tour de France Green Jersey winner has signed a contract extension that keeps him with the team until the end of 2029. The Italian sprinter, still only 24, has rapidly become one of the most dominant fast men in the peloton since joining the team two years ago.
Milan’s impact was immediate in 2024. He racked up 11 wins, including three stages of the Giro d’Italia, while taking home the ciclamino points jersey for the second year running. In 2025 he has already added eight more victories, capped by his Tour de France debut where he won two stages and clinched the Green Jersey on the Champs-Élysées – the defining target for every sprinter.

That foundation, combined with his track pedigree as an Olympic and World Champion, gives Milan a formidable platform to keep building his palmarès.
Milan underlined his attachment to the team when reflecting on the new deal. “The atmosphere at Lidl-Trek is truly special, the people here have quickly become like a second family to me, and that makes a huge difference when you’re giving everything on the bike. We have already shared some incredible moments and I am really proud of what we have achieved together so far: multiple Grand Tour stage victories, leader’s jerseys, and always fighting together as one Team. Lidl-Trek really has become my home, so it felt like a natural decision to extend my contract until the end of 2029.”

Team General Manager Luca Guercilena highlighted just how far Milan has already come. “Before we signed Jonny in 2024, we already knew he was a huge talent for the future, but in the two years since he has surpassed even our high expectations.
