Karlijn Swinkels has committed her long-term future to UAE Team ADQ, signing a two-year contract extension that keeps her with the Emirati squad until the end of 2028. Her previous deal had been due to expire in 2026, but the Dutch rider has opted to stay where she feels most at home.

Swinkels targeting classics dream

“For me it was a very logical decision,” Swinkels said. “I feel at home here, and the trust and support I get from the team really make the difference. Working with my coach Luca Zenti has taken me to a higher level, and the atmosphere with my teammates is special – we are really willing to give everything for each other. That motivates me enormously and makes me believe that with UAE Team ADQ I can make my dream come true: winning a classic and reaching the podium of a Monument.”

Swinkels joined UAE Team ADQ in 2024 after three years with Jumbo-Visma, and has already secured three victories since her move. Last season she triumphed at the Grand Prix de Wallonie and AG Tour de la Semois, while in 2025 she added the Trofeo Oro in Euro to her palmarès.

Growth with the team

“Although this is only my second year with the team, I already feel how much I have grown,” said the 26-year-old. “This team has brought me to a higher level with excellent support in the races and the top equipment we have at our disposal. Racing with such strong teammates has given me confidence, both as a rider and as a person.”

Swinkels believes UAE Team ADQ has the potential to become the best team in the world. “We already have the talent, the structure and above all the team spirit. The fact that this season eleven different riders from our team have already won says a lot about our strength and environment. If we keep challenging each other and continue to work with the right guidance and support, I am convinced that UAE Team ADQ will continue to grow and reach the top of women’s cycling.”
