Kim Le Court-Pienaar defends double national title in Mauritius

Kim Le Court-Pienaar successfully defended both her national time trial and road race titles in Mauritius, ensuring that she will continue to wear the iconic national champion’s jersey throughout the season. It’s a jersey that means a lot to this year’s Liege Bastogne Liege winner personally, and not just because it’s a sporting honour.

“Defending my two titles means a lot to me. It’s more than just a jersey, it’s the chance to keep representing my country on the world stage with immense pride. Every time I line up in the national colours, I feel like I’m carrying Mauritius with me. It gives me strength and courage knowing the whole island is behind me.”

Her commanding double win underlines her form and consistency and also the strong connection she keeps with her home country. Le Court-Pienaar’s relationship with the Mauritian cycling community, and the role she plays as an inspiration to the next generation, reaches far beyond the finish line.

“It’s been special reconnecting with the Mauritian cycling community. I’ll keep giving my all to make them proud.”

Le Court-Pienaar took the road race title by 12 seconds and then claimed the time trial by 1:38 ahead of Lucie De Marigny-Lagesse. UK-based Mauritian Lucie De Marigny-Lagesse, who has also competed at the Lincoln GP and CiCLE Classic this season, was a determined runner-up in both events.
