Lidl-Trek secure Loes Adegeest on two-year contract

Lidl-Trek have added further depth to their roster with the signing of Loes Adegeest on a deal that runs until the end of 2027. The Dutch rider moves across from FDJ-Suez, where she has spent the last two seasons, and arrives with a growing reputation as one of the peloton’s more versatile all-rounders.

Adegeest’s sporting career began on the ice, winning junior world titles in speed skating before turning her focus fully to cycling. That background gave her the engine to adapt quickly, and she announced herself in style at the highest levels with victory at the 2023 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, outsprinting Amanda Spratt. Since then, she has built a strong palmarès that includes a podium finish in the 2024 Tour de France Femmes time trial and two world titles in esports racing.

For Adegeest, the move represents both a change of scenery and a step up in ambition. “I’ve always seen Lidl-Trek as a professional and well organised team, but with a good family-like atmosphere. In the races it’s a team that never goes unnoticed due to the attacking spirit. What surprised me in a good way is how the men’s and women’s teams and staff work together, I think it can be really interesting to be able to share knowledge. I’ve never ridden for a team where the men’s and women’s programmes are so integrated, so I’m curious to see how that dynamic will be,” she explained.

She was also clear that leaving FDJ-Suez was about pushing herself further. “Personally, I was looking for a new challenge, a step out of the comfort zone FDJ-Suez had become. I hope to improve myself in the classics, to colour the finals with the Team. Also the TT is something I want to take another step forward. The decision to choose for Lidl-Trek was a no-brainer, as from the first moment during the meeting I had, it felt like the perfect fit for what I was looking for and that feeling has only grown stronger.”

From the team’s perspective, general manager Luca Guercilena underlined the qualities that made Adegeest an attractive addition. “Loes has shown she’s not afraid to race aggressively and take opportunities, and her versatility makes her a real asset. She can handle herself well in the hard classics, she’s strong in time trials as we saw at the Tour de France Femmes this year, and she brings a lot of enthusiasm about joining this Team. We’re confident she’ll be a great fit and we’re ready to support her as she takes on this new challenge.”

Adegeest now joins a Lidl-Trek squad with proven strength across both the classics and stage racing, and the move could allow her to carve out a bigger role in finals while continuing her progression against the clock. It is a transfer that reflects her steady rise since 2023 and sets up the next stage of her career at the top of the Women’s WorldTour.
