Liv AlUla Jayco Continental Team add Appleton, Swierenga and Anderson for 2026

Liv AlUla Jayco’s Continental Team has confirmed three new arrivals for 2026, bringing in a mix of youth, talent and international promise with Australians Talia Appleton and Alli Anderson joined by Canadian rider Sidney Swierenga. All three have signed two-year deals, underlining the team’s commitment to long-term development.

The Continental Team has carved out a reputation as one of the most reliable pathways into the WorldTour. The recent promotions of Mackenzie Coupland, Noa Jansen and Matilde Vitillo to the top-tier squad demonstrate how the structure prepares riders for the demands of elite competition. The overall victory at the 2025 Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa offered further evidence that the model is working.

Appleton already proving herself

At 19, Talia Appleton is seen as one of Australia’s most exciting prospects. Her performances at the Tour de l’Avenir Femmes were a turning point – four top-ten stage finishes, 3rd overall and 2nd in the youth classification. That consistency came on the back of four victories earlier in the season, including wins at the Q Tour and SA Kick It, as well as a triumph in the UCI Gravel World Series at The Devil’s Cardigan. The results show she has both climbing ability and endurance, assets that could take her a long way.

Appleton admitted the move feels like a major step: “As an Australian who has never done a full European season, this is a big moment in my career. I’ve always looked up to the GreenEDGE family, so it feels special to be joining this team. My aim is to gain experience in a wide variety of races and become a stronger, more complete rider.”

Swierenga carries Canadian hopes

Sidney Swierenga, the youngest of the three at just 18, has already delivered results that suggest she could become a stage race contender. The Canadian took the overall at the Tour du Gévaudan Occitanie Femmes, added the youth classification at the Tour of the Gila to a 2nd place overall, and retained her national junior time trial title. Six wins in total across 2025 show her versatility and strength across different terrains.

She explained her choice clearly: “Joining Liv AlUla Jayco gives me a pathway to make my dream a reality. I wanted an English-speaking team and a supportive environment where I can keep learning. My goal is to gain as much experience as possible and improve on my weaknesses.”

Anderson offers strength and maturity

At 22, Alli Anderson arrives with a slightly different profile – more experienced and with a strong record in both time trials and stage races. This year she became Australian U23 time trial champion, won the general classifications at the Q Tour and Harbour City GP, and delivered notable European results with 7th at La Classique Morbihan and 5th overall at Gracia. Her ability against the clock could prove particularly valuable as she looks to develop further.

Anderson highlighted the opportunity the team provides: “This contract means the world to me. It’s always been my dream to be a professional, and to start my career with Liv AlUla Jayco is a privilege. The development framework here has shown its success already, and I can’t wait to see how far I can go under their guidance.”

Looking ahead

For team manager Eric van den Boom, the new arrivals continue a proven approach. “Anderson, Appleton and Swierenga have repeatedly proven that they have great potential. With our development programme, we hope to polish these rough diamonds into jewels of international women’s cycling.”

Liv AlUla Jayco’s Continental Team has built a clear identity – nurturing riders, giving them exposure in Europe, and creating opportunities to step up. With Appleton, Swierenga and Anderson joining for 2026, the team looks to have secured another trio of riders capable of shaping the future of the women’s peloton.
