Liv Racing races with the right attitude in the first stage of Festival Elsy Jacobs

Liv Racing had an excellent first stage in the Festival Elsy Jacobs. In the stage between Steinfort and Steinfort (125 kilometres) the whole team made its presence known. Pauliena Rooijakkers took a tenth place. Emma Norsgaard won.

“All six riders raced well today. After an early attack by two riders, we were right at the front in the peloton, waiting for a merge. When that happened in the last lap, we attacked with Marta Jaskulska and Valerie Demey, among others. We wanted to create opportunities”, says sports director Eric van den Boom.

“In the final kilometres it became clear that no one would be able to stay away. Sofia Bertizzolo did everything she could at that moment to put Jeanne Korevaar in a good position for the slightly uphill sprint. Jeanne was at the front row, but her legs filled up too early. A pity of course, but the attitude and determination of the riders were good.”

CRASH

Pauliena Rooijakkers unfortunately had a crash. It appears however that she did not suffer from any major physical damage. She will start in the final stage Garnich-Garnich (105 km) on Sunday.
