The 20th edition of the Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain Men will see a stellar line-up of teams, including six that participated in this summer’s Tour de France. The race, starting on Tuesday 3rd September in Scotland, promises exciting competition over six stages, culminating in Suffolk on Sunday 8th September.
Among the highlights, home favourites INEOS Grenadiers will headline the field, joined by Team dsm-firmenich PostNL, Bahrain Victorious making their debut, and the returning Soudal Quick-Step, who last raced in Britain in 2021. The roster also includes three UCI WorldTour teams supporting their development squads: Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale, Groupama-FDJ, and Lidl-Trek Future Racing.
Returning Champions and Rising Stars
Norway’s Uno-X Mobility and Israel – Premier Tech, both former stage winners, are among the UCI ProTeams in the line-up. Uno-X Mobility clinched victory in Gloucester in 2023 with Ramus Tiller, while Israel–Premier Tech won the opening stage in 2022 with Corbin Strong. Q36.5 Pro Cycling, with a remarkable debut last year, also returns, featuring standout riders like Damien Howson and Mark Donovan.
Home Teams and New Contenders
British fans will cheer on the Great Britain national team, alongside Saint Piran and TRINITY Racing, known for their dynamic performances. The Global 6 United team returns for its fourth appearance, accompanied by debutant UCI Continental teams, including Germany’s REMBE Pro Cycling Team Sauerland, French Van Rysel–Roubaix, Portuguese Sabgal / Anicolor, and American Project Echelon Racing.
Voices from the Teams
INEOS Grenadiers CEO John Allert shared his excitement, stating, “We’re delighted to be lining up at this year’s Tour of Britain, and excited to get out there and thank our amazing home fans for their support. We’ll be racing through some of British cycling’s heartlands, through areas that have produced some of our greatest champions. With a number of British riders in our team, I’m sure we’ll give the home crowd plenty to cheer about.”
Richard Pascoe, owner of Saint Piran Pro Cycling, reflected on the race’s significance: “The Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain Men is deep in our psyche as a cycling nation. It shows how we can deal with adversity and success in equal measure. For Saint Piran, as a family we are aware we have less resources than other teams but it is a chance for us to show the millions of people watching what we can do and what we are about.”
Anticipated Action
Race Director Rod Ellingworth commented, “We are excited by the line-up of teams for this year’s Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain, and the combination of squads that will be lining up on 3rd September. Many of the teams have enjoyed previous success with stage wins and overall victories in the race, while others making their debut will be keen to add their names to the Lloyds Bank Tour of Britain Men roll of honour this year.”
