Reigning European Road Champion, Mischa Bredewold, has committed to Team SD Worx-ProTime for three more years, extending her contract until the end of 2027. The 23-year-old Dutch rider, recognised for her versatility, expressed her confidence in further development with the team, citing successful growth over the past year and a half.

“If you look at how well I have developed in the last year and a half with this team, I have a lot of confidence that I can grow further within Team SD Worx-Protime,” said Bredewold in a team press release.

Since joining SD Worx-ProTime in 2023, Bredewold has achieved notable victories, including the European Road Championships, Classic Lorient Agglomération, and two stages in the Itzulia Women. Reflecting on her rapid progress, she remarked, “I never thought when I signed with this team that I would be able to win such nice races so quickly. In that respect, I have made huge strides here very quickly.”

Bredewold discussed the team’s ambitions and vision, indicating a mutual understanding of her career goals. “It immediately became clear that we are on the same page sport-wise. I hope to be able to take further steps in the coming years so that I can ride serious finishes in the hill classics but also in stage races and grow towards the top. I also want to make progress in time trial,” she noted. The supportive environment at SD Worx-ProTime has been a significant factor for her. “I have felt at home with this team from the first moment.”

Team sports manager, Danny Stam, expressed his delight in retaining Bredewold, highlighting her potential and versatility. “I am happy that we can tie Mischa to us for a longer period. She has already shown a lot of progression over the past season and a half and it looks like there is still more in it. One of Mischa’s strengths is that she is versatile in many areas. She could develop as a real hard rider like Marlen Reusser, but also has a very good sprint in her legs. We are confident that she can make great strides in our team’s colours in the coming years,” he stated.

Bredewold’s next challenge will be the Tour de Suisse, starting on Saturday 15th June, where she aims to continue her impressive form.
