Remco Evenepoel will ride for Red Bull–Bora–Hansgrohe from 2026 onwards, closing one chapter with Soudal Quick-Step and beginning a new phase with one of the most ambitious projects in modern cycling. The announcement comes just hours after his current team confirmed his departure at the end of the 2025 season.
The move brings one of the sport’s most talked-about transfer stories to a conclusion, as the 25-year-old Belgian Grand Tour winner and world champion joins a team that has steadily evolved into a major force in stage racing under Red Bull’s growing influence.
“Remco stands for ambition. He doesn’t just want to ride – he wants to shape cycling,” said team CEO Ralph Denk. “He brings not only exceptional athletic talent, but also a remarkable mindset. His determination, professionalism, and relentless drive to succeed are truly inspiring.”
Evenepoel’s palmarès already includes a Vuelta a España title, World Championships in both the road race and time trial, and victory at Liège–Bastogne–Liège. He is also the reigning Olympic time trial champion, and remains one of the most complete riders of his generation.
The move is about more than just sporting firepower. With Evenepoel’s arrival, Red Bull–Bora–Hansgrohe signals its intent to become one of the sport’s defining teams in the coming years. The combination of sporting ambition, commercial backing, and a stacked GC roster means the German team is likely to enter 2026 among the favourites at every major race.
For Evenepoel, the transition to a new environment is set to be a defining step. After six years with Soudal Quick-Step, where he rose from teenage sensation to world-class contender, the Belgian will now lead a squad that already includes Grand Tour winners like Primož Roglič and Jai Hindley.
According to the team, Evenepoel is expected to “take on the sport’s biggest challenges” in this new phase of his career, with a clear goal of winning the Tour de France and continuing to race with the aggressive style that has won him so many fans.
