Shari Bossuyt will return to the peloton with AG Insurance-Soudal, with her comeback scheduled to begin from mid-June. The Belgian rider has been away from racing recently due to a well-publicised ban, but has been on the teamโs training programme from 15th April.
The move marks a new chapter for Bossuyt, who has spent time away from the sport following a period of uncertainty surrounding her career. She will now rebuild her racing condition within a structured environment at AG Insurance-Soudal.
Team CEO Jurgen Forรฉ confirmed the decision followed โcareful considerationโ by the squadโs performance staff, along with open discussions involving the rider and her management.
โShari is determined to show what sheโs capable of and very hungry to race with the team,โ said Forรฉ. โWe believe that Shari has a great future ahead of her, and that the team can be a perfect environment for her to make this happen.โ
Bossuyt was equally upbeat about the opportunity to restart her professional journey. โThis is a fresh start, and Iโm incredibly grateful for the opportunity,โ she said. โIโve missed the rhythm of racing, being part of a team and the challenge, and Iโm ready to give it everything.โ
The team has not yet confirmed which races Bossuyt will target, but her reintegration from mid-June aligns with the build-up to a busy summer calendar.
Before her ban, Bossuyt had won stages at the Tour de Normandie Fรฉminin and Watersley Challenge, plus the Belgium U23 ITT National Championship.
