Sophie Marr will step onto the international stage with Liv AlUla Jayco Continental in 2026 after winning the inaugural ProVelo Super League in Brisbane. Her reward is a full contract with the team for the 2026 season, offering a clear pathway into the professional ranks via the development setup of the Women’s WorldTour-level Liv AlUla Jayco team.

The 20-year-old Australian, currently riding for Team Bridgelane, produced a composed performance across the six-round series to claim the U23 title in a close battle. The Brisbane finale saw her defend a slender lead in the standings through a tough final stage, which she later described as a “brutal 200 metres” to the line.

“I’m so excited, I’m lost for words, truly that I have won the overall ProVelo Super League,” Marr said. “Going into the final round everyone was like ‘ohh you’ve got this, you’ve got this, your pen’s in your hand ready to sign’ and I was like guys don’t talk too soon. Obviously, the last stage was a big fight, and I am just lost for words to have won.”

The ProVelo Super League, launched in January alongside the Santos Tour Down Under, brought together some of the best emerging riders from across Australia and beyond. The top prize – a contract with GreenEDGE Cycling – offered a unique chance to fast-track into the sport’s elite development structure.

Marr’s consistency and tactical maturity throughout the league were standout traits. She’s no stranger to strong results either. At the end of 2024, she finished 8th in the Tour of Guangxi, part of the chasing group vying for the final podium place behind a two-rider breakaway. While the field didn’t feature the top echelon of Women’s WorldTour sprinters, the presence of established WWT teams meant she was racing against experienced international opposition – and held her own.

Her move to Liv AlUla Jayco Continental offers more than just a development contract. Under UCI rules, riders from the Continental setup can be selected for races with the WorldTour team, provided the events aren’t at WWT level. That opens the door for Marr to gain experience with the main squad during 2026 as well. After spells with ARA | Skip Capital in 2023 and 2024, Marr’s progression to Team Bridgelane this year has been another step up. The next move, into the GreenEDGE system, looks set to be the most important yet.
