Uno-X Mobility has confirmed the signing of Sven Erik Bystrøm on a two-year deal beginning in 2026, bringing a wealth of WorldTour experience to the growing Scandinavian team.

The 33-year-old Norwegian will arrive from Groupama–FDJ, following previous stints with Katusha, UAE Team Emirates, and Intermarché–Wanty. A former U23 World Champion and an eight-time Grand Tour starter, Bystrøm is expected to play a key leadership role within Uno-X’s youthful line-up.

General Manager Thor Hushovd praised the move as a natural fit. “Sven Erik is a strong and versatile rider who fits into most race scenarios,” he said. “We see him as a classic road captain, someone who will bring 13 years of experience into a young Uno-X squad. He’s smart, consistent, and knows exactly what it takes to perform at the top.”

Bystrøm’s arrival reinforces the team’s strategic focus on blending experience with developing talent. While Uno-X has continued to earn wildcard invitations to major races, including the Tour de France, they have done so with a core group largely composed of younger Scandinavian riders.

With this move, the team secures not only a seasoned all-rounder but also a mentor figure who can help shape on-road decision-making and race-day dynamics. Hushovd highlighted that leadership element, noting, “His experience will be a huge asset for our younger riders. Having someone like Sven Erik in the team gives them a clear benchmark, someone who knows what it takes to deliver at the highest level, both on and off the bike.”

The transfer also represents a homecoming of sorts for Bystrøm, who has strong links to the team’s Norwegian core and sees the move as an opportunity for his own progression. While his leadership qualities are well established, he remains eager to grow as a rider himself.

Uno-X Mobility continues to build methodically for the future, and the signing of Bystrøm adds both depth and direction as they look to solidify their place in the WorldTour conversation.
