Team dsm-firmenich adds Liepins and Van den Berg to men’s team

Emils Liepins

Team DSM-Firmenich is excited to announce the addition of two new riders, Emils Liepiņš and Julius van den Berg, to their men’s programme for the 2024 season.

Emils Liepiņš, known for his steady progression from the Continental ranks in Latvia to the Pro Continental circuit, has made a significant impact since his WorldTour breakthrough in 2020. Acknowledged for his hard work and determination, Liepiņš has become a dependable team player, adept at both setting up finishes and achieving commendable results himself. With a powerful sprinting ability, highlighted by his victory at Heistse Pijl in 2018 and consecutive wins at the Latvian national championships, Liepiņš is set to play a crucial role in Team DSM-Firmenich’s sprint group, particularly in lead-out situations.

Julius van den Berg, originating from Purmerend in North Holland, transitioned to professional ranks in mid-2018 following a successful U23 career, which included Dutch road race and time trial titles. Van den Berg, since moving to WorldTour racing, has proved his worth as a team player, often leading the chase for breakaways or positioning teammates for final sprints. Showcasing his strong capabilities, Van den Berg has secured top finishes in Dutch time trial championships and achieved a standout victory in the final stage of the Tour de Pologne. Joining Team DSM-Firmenich, Van den Berg aims to utilise his power as a valuable asset to the squad.
