Team Picnic PostNL have announced two new signings for their women’s programme, confirming that British rider Robyn Clay and Australian Lucie Fityus will join the team on contracts running through to the end of 2027.

Both riders arrive with strong credentials and clear potential for development as the Dutch WorldTour team continues to build depth for the coming seasons.

Clay, 21, has been one of the breakthrough names of the British domestic scene in 2025. After only taking up racing in 2021, she dominated this year’s national circuit by winning the overall titles in the National Road Series, National Circuit Series and Super-League. She also claimed an attacking stage victory at the Tour de Feminin in Czechia and finished runner-up in the British under-23 time trial championship.

“What really drew me to Team Picnic PostNL is how hard-working and determined the team is,” Clay said. “Everything about the team feels structured and driven towards getting the best out of every rider. That’s the kind of environment I really value and want to be part of. I’m excited to learn from the riders and staff around me, to find my place in the WorldTour peloton, and to keep growing, not just as a rider, but also as a team-mate and a person. Having some fun along the way would be pretty cool too.”

Team head coach Rudi Kemna said Clay’s rapid progress had made her an obvious target for recruitment. “Robyn has been on our radar since she impressed us during some testing that we did together last year, and her progress since then has been remarkable, especially her victory in the British National Series. She brings youthful energy and a strong foundation that we can help turn into even greater power and endurance. Her role will focus on supporting our Classics squad and contributing to the sprint lead-out, while we work with her to build a bigger engine and broaden her racing experience.”

Fityus, originally from Newcastle in Australia, also joins after a steady rise through European racing. Having raced in France this year following a season with an Australian-based team, she impressed in the spring classics with consistent rides at Brugge–De Panne and the Ronde van Vlaanderen. A strong rouleur with a background in track cycling, she also displayed sprinting strength with tenth place at Scheldeprijs, known as the unofficial sprinters’ world championships. Her other standout results include fourth on the opening stage of the 2025 Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées and top ten finishes at La Picto-Charentaise and the Surf Coast Classic.

“For me, joining Team Picnic PostNL feels like stepping into an environment I’ve admired for a long time,” Fityus said. “I’ve watched so many talented riders come through this set-up and grow into strong, confident professionals. That pathway has always inspired me, and now I finally get the chance to be part of it myself. I’m excited to embrace new ways of working and to make the most of every opportunity to develop, both as a rider and as a person. I love the thrill of aggressive racing, testing my limits, and finding out how far I can push myself. On and off the bike, I like to bring positive energy; I believe that having fun while doing the job well is one of the best ways to keep improving and make the team stronger together.”

Kemna said the Australian’s performances in early-season races had shown she was ready for the next level. “Lucie caught our eye in the spring Classics, where she consistently raced alongside riders from the biggest teams and proved she belongs at the highest level. Her arrival gives our Classics group extra strength and stability, and she will also be a key piece in our sprint lead-outs. Moving from the ProTour to WorldTour environment is another big step, but Lucie’s determination and natural racing instinct convince us she can adapt quickly and become a decisive support rider in the most demanding races of the year.”

The arrivals of Clay and Fityus continue Team Picnic PostNL’s focus on nurturing young talent and reinforcing its Classics and sprint groups as it looks ahead to the 2026 WorldTour season.
