Teosport unveils eco-friendly Re-Up pads at Eurobike

Teosport will showcase its innovative Re-Up project at Eurobike this July, the cycling industry’s leading trade fair, held in Frankfurt. This initiative focuses on creating high-performance cycling pads from recycled materials, reflecting the company’s dedication to environmental sustainability.

Teosport’s Re-Up project was born from the desire to extend the lifespan of materials that would typically be discarded. The process involves reclaiming surplus foam waste, reshaping it, and applying it to bases made from recycled fabrics. This method reduces the environmental impact associated with traditional manufacturing processes and helps lower production waste by up to 90%.

The Re-Up pads are crafted using cutting-edge recycling techniques. The initiative aligns with the company’s principles of circular economy and sustainability.

Teosport has been a pioneer in eco-friendly production since the launch of its Greentech Lab in 2000. The lab drives the company’s continuous efforts to protect the environment while achieving maximum technical performance. This includes working with suppliers who support environmental initiatives, using local technical laboratories, and encouraging energy-efficient power sources.

Innovative Foam and Fabric

Teosport has also developed eco-friendly foam that contains TENCEL™ particles. This cellulosic fibre, sourced sustainably from wood, enhances moisture regulation, making it ideal for cycling chamois. The foam’s ability to absorb and release moisture ensures a drier and more comfortable ride.

In partnership with Sportwear Argentona, Teosport has introduced Marnets, a high-quality fabric made from recycled fishing nets. This collaboration supports the Healthy Seas initiative, which aims to remove ghost nets from marine environments. The recycled nets are transformed into ECONYL® regenerated nylon yarn, used to create eco-sustainable sportswear fabrics with the same performance as traditional materials.

Teosport is currently working towards GRS certification for its Re-Up pads, further solidifying its commitment to sustainable practices. The pads are a testament to the company’s dedication to environmental stewardship, combining high performance with minimal ecological impact.
