The 2025 edition of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift is set to get underway on 26th July, starting in Brittany and crossing France to the Alps over nine days. With defending champion Kasia Niewiadoma, 2023 winner Demi Vollering, and a host of major names already confirmed, the race promises one of its most competitive fields yet.
The confirmed start list spans all 22 teams, with a blend of overall contenders, sprint specialists and opportunists preparing to do battle across the varied terrain.
GC contenders and key names
Fresh from victory at the Giro d’Italia Women, Elisa Longo Borghini will look to maintain her momentum for UAE Team ADQ, while her rivals are already well known. Demi Vollering returns with FDJ-SUEZ after her move from SD Worx-Protime, lining up alongside Juliette Labous, Évita Muzic, and the ever-aggressive Elise Chabbey.
Reigning Tour de France Femmes champion Kasia Niewiadoma heads a strong Canyon SRAM zondacrypto squad that also includes Neve Bradbury, Ricarda Bauernfeind, and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig, giving the team multiple cards to play in the mountains.
SD Worx-Protime bring not just Lotte Kopecky and Anna van der Breggen, who returns to racing full-time, but also sprint queen Lorena Wiebes and attacking talents like Mischa Bredewold and Blanka Vas.
Movistar’s GC ambitions rest with Marlen Reusser, with Liane Lippert hunting for stages. Mavi García and Monica Trinca Colonel are set to lead Liv AlUla Jayco, and Usoa Ostolaza anchors Laboral Kutxa’s mountain hopes.
Sprinters ready for stage wins
The flat finishes will be fiercely contested with Lorena Wiebes, Elisa Balsamo, and Charlotte Kool (yet to be confirmed) expected to feature in the big bunch finishes. Balsamo is back from injury and lines up for Lidl-Trek with strong support from Riejanne Markus, Shirin van Anrooij, and Lucinda Brand.
Uno-X Mobility brings Maria Giulia Confalonieri and Linda Zanetti, both of whom have been highly consistent in 2025, with a good few wins thanks to Zanetti.
EF Education-Oatly also boasts depth with Letizia Borghesi, Kristen Faulkner, and Cédrine Kerbaol, giving them stage-winning potential and a GC card to play.
Other teams and riders to watch
AG Insurance-Soudal will look to Sarah Gigante and Kim Le Court for climbing days, while Shari Bossuyt and Gladys Verhulst-Wild are likely to animate the sprints or rolling breakaway stages.
Valentina Cavallar, Marjolein van’t Geloof, and Emilia Fahlin make up a well-rounded Arkea-B&B Hotels team, combining experience and finishing speed.
Team Visma | Lease a Bike sees Marianne Vos back at the race alongside Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and young British talent Imogen Wolff, while Fenix-Deceuninck has a trio of punchy riders in Yara Kastelijn, Marthe Truyen, and Christina Schweinberger, along with last year’s podium finisher Pauliena Rooijakkers.
VolkerWessels arrive with Lonneke Uneken, Eline Jansen, and Margot Vanpachtenbeke, while Julie Bego and Victoire Berteau give Cofidis plenty of firepower in the medium mountain stages.
Winspace Orange Seal adds international flavour with Nadia Gontova, Karolina Perekitko, and Fiona Mangan, all of whom have impressed in racing this season.
