ToggleWho taught you how to ride a bike & how old were you?
My grandfather taught me to ride a bike when I was three or four years old. My father in that period was away for the Tour de France so I promised him to learn to ride a bike without baby wheels. It was a big emotion when my father came home after a long time and saw me ride a bike.
What was your first ‘proper’ road bike & what colour was it?
My first “proper” road bike had my surname because my father painted it when my sister started to ride. The colours were the same as my team, green and yellow, but my bike had a more particular: the glitter!
What’s the most important piece of kit/advice that has helped boost your performance?
Learn to listen the advice of my dad and who has more experience than me!
What’s your favourite routes/places to ride?
I really like the small roads in the middle of nature and the landscapes on top of the mountains the only problem is that I make too much effort to see them.
What tips do you have to keep the love of cycling going amidst all the training?
Take every day with pleasure, do the work, we have to do thinking that these will lead us to achieve great goals but above all enjoy every day all the emotions that the bike can give.
What experiences are still to do on your cycling ‘bucket list’?
I hope to be able to participate in the Olympic games at least once a time in my career. It’s a great dream but I’ll do everything to make it a reality!!
