Zwift expands hardware, software and racing options ahead of 2025/26 winter training season

Zwift has rolled out a wide-ranging package of updates for autumn 2025 designed to make it easier and more affordable to get started on the platform. With indoor training season approaching in the Northern Hemisphere, the company has refreshed its hardware line-up, added AI-powered training recommendations, and unveiled a major expansion of the New York map along with a packed racing calendar.

New Zwift Ready trainers and Click controllers

Zwift is widening its range of Zwift Ready trainers, with 12 models available from Wahoo, Elite, JetBlack and Tacx, priced from ยฃ279.99. All come pre-fitted with the Zwift Cog virtual shifting system, ship ready to ride once mounted, and are fully compatible with the Zwift Ride smart frame. Availability is also increasing in high-street retail stores.

To accompany this, Zwift has launched a new version of its Click controller. Previously a single-unit shifter, the new design comes as two separate units with multiple configurable buttons, offering shifting, steering and shortcut controls. They can be mounted flexibly on tri bars, flat bars or drop bars. Upgrade kits with the new Click and a Cog pre-installed on a freehub are priced at ยฃ49.99, making it easier to retrofit existing trainers.

Zwift has also simplified device setup, now recommending the best connection type automatically, and allowing easier bridging for heart rate monitors when Bluetooth channels are limited.

Smarter training with personalised recommendations

From November, Zwift will start offering personalised workout recommendations using AI to analyse both indoor and outdoor rides. Since opening up to outdoor uploads, Zwift has logged 5.3 million activities from Garmin, Wahoo and Hammerhead head units. This data will now feed into weekly auto-adjusted goals and suggested workouts tailored to each riderโ€™s fitness, preferences and recent training load.

The new Progress Report screen within Zwift will display key post-ride stats such as training status, streaks, bike upgrade progress and level gains. Meanwhile, the Companion App will feature a new Review and Celebrate panel for a deeper dive into progress.

New roads in New York

On 27th October, Zwift will deliver its biggest map update in years with a 31km expansion of the New York world. Riders will be able to leave Central Park, cross the Brooklyn Bridge and ride into Prospect Park, with some routes diving underground into the subway network.

The subways will also host the first use of Zwiftโ€™s new Power Segments. Unlike traditional timed sprints, these challenge riders to produce maximum wattage over a timed stretch, with leaderboards ranking personal bests and community-wide performances.

Full Zwift Racing calendar

Racing returns with a full schedule through winter. The Z//Racing series kicks off in September, followed by the Zwift Unlocked tour from 6th October to 16th November, featuring five stages with long and short route options and double XP. Zwift Games will run in February and March 2026, while the Zwift Racing League continues with four rounds of team events through to April.

A unique highlight will be the online Brompton World Championships from 17th to 23rd November, set on custom London routes. Riders will compete in tweed kit, unlockable in the DropShop, with virtual Bromptons also available to buy.

Zwift has also added post-event cooldown options, enabling riders to stay in-world after finishing to continue rolling and chatting. Zwift Camp: Baseline will run from 15th September to 19th October, offering four structured workouts to establish winter training benchmarks.

Finally, Zwift is expanding its in-game DropShop, launching custom Canyon Aeroad colourways on 25th September, and a new Watopia Essentials apparel line in partnership with Pedal Mafia on 16th September.
