The 2025 edition of the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women will enjoy extensive live and digital coverage across BBC platforms this June, with the race forming a key part of the broadcaster’s Women’s Summer of Sport programming. Running from 5th to 8th June, the four-day event will be streamed live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app, with further coverage on BBC Sport’s social media channels.
The inclusion of the race in the BBC’s summer lineup highlights the growing profile of the Tour of Britain Women, which this year boasts a record 19 teams on the start list. That upward trajectory has been matched by a surge in elite names confirmed to race, including European champion Lorena Wiebes, reigning double Olympic gold medallist Kristen Faulkner, and former world champion Lizzie Deignan, who returns to the roads of Britain in front of home crowds.
British Cycling Events Managing Director Jonathan Day welcomed the announcement, describing it as a landmark moment for visibility. “The event is breaking records this year with the number of teams riding across the four stages,” he said. “It’s brilliant news that the races will be available across BBC Sport’s platforms.”
BBC Sport Director Alex Kay-Jelski added that the broadcaster’s commitment goes beyond simply broadcasting results. “Not just the victories, but the stories, the grit and the passion behind them” will be front and centre as the Tour of Britain Women joins the BBC’s growing portfolio of women’s sport.
Alongside BBC coverage, the race will also be streamed digitally on Warner Bros. Discovery+, with daily highlights and additional options via TNT channels, the TNT red button and online platforms.
In a further effort to grow the race’s reach, British Cycling will launch a dedicated Tour of Britain Women TikTok channel in 2025, targeting a younger audience with engaging, behind-the-scenes content. Additional highlights and race videos will also be made available on YouTube, and fans can opt in for daily race news via a dedicated newsletter.
The 2025 edition of the race starts in the North York Moors on Thursday 5th June, running from Dalby Forest to Redcar. Stage two tackles the hills around Saltburn-by-the-Sea, followed by a cross-border transfer to Scotland for the final two days. The penultimate stage loops around Kelso in the Scottish Borders, before the race concludes on a city centre circuit in Glasgow on Sunday 8th June.
