2nd place for Evita in Bar-sur-Aube

Evita takes second place in the 4th stage of the Tour de France Women with Zwift

126.8 kilometres awaited the Tour de France Women peloton today, in the middle of the Aube vineyard paths. Like the Strade Bianche, the day’s stage settled down as we approached the first gravel sector, the Chemin de Celle, preceded by the Côte de Celles-sur-Ource.

The five girls of the team, perfectly placed until 2/3 of the race, once again showed remarkable collective strength when Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig suffered a puncture at kilometre 87, in the heart of the second gravel sector of the day. Assisted by Vittoria Guazzini who gave her her rear wheel, and by Marie Le Net who got on the board for her leader, Cecilie was able to catch up with the main group 29 kilometres from the finish.

To her advantage all day on white paths that she likes and that she was able to recognise last spring, Evita Muzic broke away from the peloton 12 kilometres from the finish in Bar-sur-Aube. Launched in pursuit of Marlen Reusser (SD Workx), victorious today alone, Evita settled the sprint of the chasing group to finish second in the day’s stage ahead of Alena Amialiusik (Canyon Sram Racing) and Veronica Ewers ( EF Education-Tibco-SVB).

In the general classification, Cecilie is 9th, 1:48 behind the yellow jersey, Marianne Vos. Evita is 12th, at 2:47, and 2nd French behind Juliette Labous.

Evita Muzic, 2nd in today’s stage: “I like these white paths which remind me of cyclocross. Despite the mechanical problems, we feel that luck is with us today. We manage to get the best possible result with this 2nd place of which I am super proud. »
