Career overview
Zayed Ahmed has been Egypt’s standout modern women’s cyclist across track and road, with a long run of African Championship success. She became the first Egyptian woman to race Olympic track cycling, competing in the sprint at Rio 2016, the omnium at Tokyo 2020 and the omnium again at Paris 2024. Her African track record includes repeated titles in the omnium, points race, scratch race, individual pursuit, elimination race and Madison, while on the road she won the 2022 African road race title and finished 2nd in the time-trial. Zayed Ahmed has also raced professionally with Al Asayl Cycling Team, Zaaf Cycling Team and Dubai Police Cycling Team.
