La Choralis Fourmies Féminine steps up to ProSeries level in 2025, continuing its rapid rise since first appearing on the calendar in 2019. Originally launched as a 1.2 race, it has steadily grown in profile, upgraded to 1.1 status in 2024, and is now joining the tier just below the Women’s WorldTour. The race sits within the cluster of late-season French one-day events that bring the curtain down on the calendar, often producing lively and unpredictable racing.
Each edition so far has delivered a different type of finale. Silvia Zanardi was last year’s winner, sprinting to victory after her Human Powered Health team reeled in a dangerous late move by Femke de Vries, Marta Lach and Emma Norsgaard. Zanardi edged out Cat Ferguson and Martina Alzini to take her first win of the 2024 season. In 2023, it was Lach who triumphed with a daring attack inside the final laps, clinging to a one-second lead over a fast-charging peloton led home by Sofie van Rooijen and Marthe Truyen. Clara Copponi had given French fans a home victory in 2022, while Pfeiffer Georgi and Thi That Nguyen claimed the honours in earlier editions.
The 2025 course is expected to favour either a reduced bunch sprint or a small breakaway strong enough to resist the chasers, a pattern seen throughout the race’s short history. With its elevation to ProSeries status, a deeper field of WorldTour teams should sharpen the level even further, setting the stage for another aggressive day of racing in Fourmies.
