Team Jayco AlUla have confirmed the signing of Belgian rider Amaury Capiot on a two-year deal running through 2026 and 2027, adding valuable experience and finishing speed to their one-day Classics unit.
Capiot, now 32, arrives after three seasons with Arkéa-B&B Hotels, following a long tenure at Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise earlier in his career. Over more than a decade in the pro peloton, he has become a reliable performer in tough northern races, capable of mixing it with the best on selective terrain while still delivering a fast finish.
His palmarès includes three career victories: the 2022 GP La Marseillaise, a stage win at Boucles de la Mayenne later that year, and a stage of the 2024 Tour of Oman. Beyond his wins, he has shown consistency with podiums and top finishes in stage races, including 3rd overall at the Tour de Wallonie in 2020.
Looking ahead to his new role, Capiot said: “I am really motivated for 2026, and I look forward to riding in the colours of Team Jayco AlUla. My role will change from race to race but the main goal will always be the same, winning as many races as possible with the team. Hopefully, I can add my part to the success of the team and help us achieve a lot of victories together. Motivation is not just about working hard, it’s about lifting one another up so together we can cross the line first.”
General manager Brent Copeland highlighted the strategic value of the signing. “As we look to build our Classics group for 2026 and beyond, we were looking for riders with experience and with Amaury we have that. He has been in the professional peloton for a long time and has been racing the Belgian classics for more than 10 years. Experience and knowledge are something you need for the tough one-day races, so adding somebody like Amaury to the squad alongside our younger riders makes sense and we’re happy to welcome him into the team.”
For Jayco AlUla, Capiot’s arrival fits into a broader push to compete more aggressively in the cobbled and hilly one-day races. With his mix of tactical nous, sprinting ability, and durability, he will provide both leadership options and strong support as the team reshapes its ambitions for the Classics.
