Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi have confirmed the signing of Italian all-rounder Sara Fiorin on a two-year contract, adding a rider whose steady upward trajectory has marked her as one of the more reliable young performers in the European peloton.

At just 22, Fiorin already brings a blend of versatility, tactical awareness and a growing list of results that highlight both speed and resilience. Her three career victories demonstrate that mix well. She took a stage of the Vuelta a El Salvador this spring, following on from two wins in 2024 at the ZLM Omloop der Kempen Ladies and the Umag Trophy Ladies, where she outsprinted more experienced rivals after superbly measured rides.

Alongside those victories, her results sheet shows consistent quality. She was runner-up at the Grand Prix El Salvador this year, fourth at the Ronde de Mouscron, and delivered top-five finishes in races like Veenendaal-Veenendaal, GP Immo Zone and Konvert Koerse. Her third place at the GP Mazda Schelkens last year further underlined her ability to handle punchy one-day races and fast finales. She has also taken a stage win at the Vuelta a El Salvador, rounding out a profile that suggests she can adapt to a range of race scenarios.

For Fiorin, the attraction of the Basque setup was immediate. ā€œIt seems like a team with a very welcoming atmosphere, so I am sure I will feel at home,ā€ she said. ā€œOver the next two years, I want to work hard for results together with my teammates and learn from all of them.ā€ That sense of shared purpose is something Laboral Kutxa regularly emphasise, and Fiorin arrives from a WorldTour environment at Ceratizit Pro Cycling Team after previous years of development with UAE’s programme.

Born in Italy on 24 September 2003, she remains at an age where significant progression is still expected, particularly within a structure that has taken clear steps forward year after year. Laboral Kutxa have focused on nurturing riders who can grow across multiple terrains, and Fiorin fits neatly into that approach. Her combination of finishing speed, positioning skills and all-round capability makes her a valuable addition for both the hilly northern classics and the faster one-day races on the calendar.

With two seasons guaranteed in purple, Fiorin now has the platform to consolidate what she has achieved so far and to push into the next tier. For Laboral Kutxa, she adds depth, ambition and a rider whose ceiling still looks comfortably higher than the results already on her palmarĆØs.
