GreenEDGE Cycling renews deals with Engelhardt, Talbot, Hatherly, Korevaar and Gamper for 2027

GreenEDGE Cycling has confirmed five contract renewals across its men’s and women’s WorldTour squads, retaining Felix Engelhardt, Alan Hatherly and Patrick Gamper alongside Josie Talbot and Jeanne Korevaar for 2027.

The announcement keeps three riders with Team Jayco AlUla and two with Liv AlUla Jayco as the Australian organisation continues assembling its squads for next season. The five offer different strengths, from a national road champion and a two-time mountain bike world champion to experienced support riders on both sides of the operation.

German champion Engelhardt stays with Team Jayco AlUla

Felix Engelhardt is the most recent major winner among the five. The 26-year-old German took his first elite national road race title in June 2026, chasing back to the decisive group in the closing kilometres before winning the sprint ahead of Lennart Jasch and Nico Denz.

It was a significant result for a rider who had finished second in the 2025 championship and made his Tour de France debut in July. Engelhardt joined GreenEDGE ahead of the 2023 season and has developed into an option for difficult one-day races where both climbing strength and a quick finish matter.

Keeping him gives the men’s squad an established rider for selective races as well as another option to support its leaders when the route becomes more demanding. His German champion’s jersey will also remain in the team’s colours during the opening months of 2027.

Hatherly and Gamper continue on men’s roster

Alan Hatherly’s renewal maintains one of the more unusual combinations of skills in the WorldTour. The South African moved into road racing with Team Jayco AlUla in 2025 after building a successful mountain bike career. He won the elite cross-country Olympic mountain bike world title in both 2024 and 2025 and has continued competing in both disciplines.

His road results have developed alongside that mountain bike programme. Hatherly won the South African time-trial championship in 2025 and finished third overall at the 2026 Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali, while also taking 13th overall at Tirreno-Adriatico. His ability against the clock and on climbs gives the team flexibility across stage races.

Patrick Gamper provides a more established support role. The Austrian joined GreenEDGE in 2025 after five years with Bora-Hansgrohe and is valued for his work in the peloton, particularly controlling races, positioning teammates and contributing in time trials. A former Austrian national time-trial champion, he was also part of the Bora squad that won the 2022 Giro d’Italia with Jai Hindley.

Retaining Gamper alongside Engelhardt and Hatherly gives the team a combination of experienced race management and riders still looking to add individual results.

Talbot and Korevaar retained by Liv AlUla Jayco

On the women’s side, Josie Talbot has agreed to continue with Liv AlUla Jayco after joining the squad for 2025. The Australian all-rounder took a Women’s WorldTour stage victory at the Tour of Chongming Island during her first season with the team. Her earlier results include the 2022 Oceania road race championship and victories at La Périgord Ladies and the Tour Féminin International des Pyrénées.

Talbot is capable of riding aggressively in one-day races and finishing from a reduced group. That makes her useful in races where Liv AlUla Jayco can place several riders into moves rather than relying on a single sprint leader.

Jeanne Korevaar also stays with the Australian organisation. The Dutch rider is one of its more experienced competitors, having spent much of her career with the former Rabo-Liv and CCC-Liv structures before joining GreenEDGE. She raced the 2026 Tour de France Femmes and provides the squad with an established rider for demanding WorldTour events.

The two renewals add continuity to a women’s roster that has also been developing younger riders through its Continental team. Together, Talbot and Korevaar offer race experience that complements the organisation’s newer signings and graduates.

Five renewals as GreenEDGE prepares for 2027

The contracts are another indication of GreenEDGE’s plans for a full 2027 season across its men’s and women’s programmes. The organisation has already announced several new arrivals and promotions from its development squads, including four riders stepping up to the men’s WorldTour team.

They also come during an unusual period of administrative scrutiny. GreenEDGE’s two WorldTour teams were absent from the UCI’s first published list of named 2027 applicants because of outstanding documentation. The team has attributed the delay to international banking arrangements rather than a change in its intention to race. The final registration list is expected in December, and the renewals do not themselves constitute confirmation that the licensing process is complete.
