Bodine Vollering, younger sister of Demi Vollering, has signed her first professional contract with the Dutch VolkerWessels Cycling Team, marking a significant milestone in her budding career. The 21-year-old has agreed to a two-year deal and will debut in the professional peloton in 2025 after impressing in domestic races.
Volleringโs elder sister, Demi, shared her pride and excitement for Bodineโs achievement on Instagram. “Iโm proud of you, Bodine! Youโve worked hard to take this step,” she wrote. “Sometimes giving up seemed the easiest choice, but she never did. This is your journey! Go for it, Bob! Believe with all your heart.”
Bodine Vollering has shown consistent growth over the past season while racing as an amateur for WV Schijndel. Her 2024 campaign included notable performances such as fourth place in the Rรฉgion Pays de la Loire Tour Fรฉminin and the Dutch National Championships for elites without contracts. Additionally, she secured third in the Omloop der Zevenheuvelen, finishing behind VolkerWessels riders Anneke Dijkstra and Sabrina Stultiens.
Excited for the journey ahead
Speaking about her move to VolkerWessels, Vollering expressed her enthusiasm and determination. “I am really proud to be a part of the VolkerWessels Cycling Team next year. I feel like there is currently a lot of change in womenโs cycling,” she said. Vollering highlighted the team’s dedication to nurturing talent and its commitment to growing alongside the sport. “The team has the ambition to develop simultaneously with womenโs cycling, while they have also shown to be able to produce some great champions.”
The young Dutch rider is embracing the opportunity to learn and grow in her new environment. “I know that I have a long way to go to develop myself because reaching your dreams and goals is a long but fun journey,” Vollering added. “I am looking forward to the process, riding with the girls, and learning a lot from the whole team.”
