Canyon SRAM’s Shari Bossuyt breaks collarbone in training fall

Shari Bossuyt

The Belgian rider Shari Bossuyt has confirmed on Twitter that she has rebroken her collarbone. As is evident on the x-ray below, the fresh bone break is just at the end of where the previous metal rod was put in. Bossuyt was training on the track when it happened.

The 22-year-old had a strong 2022 season, delivering on the promise she showed at AG Insurance-NXTG the previous year. She took jersey wins at Bloeizone Fryslan and the Lotto Belgium Tour and repeatedly came close to a first professional victory. She finished in the top-3 on 6 occasions without ever reaching the top step. However, she became World Championship in the Madison in October with her race partner Lotte Kopecky.

The recovery time isn’t known but Bossuyt shouldn’t miss many races at this time of the 2023 season.
