Célia Gery, an 18-year-old French cyclocross specialist and junior road star, is set to join the FDJ-SUEZ team until 2026. Born on 4th January 2006, Gery has already achieved World and European junior titles in cyclocross, along with successes on the road.
Gery began to stand out early, becoming the French cyclocross champion in the cadet category. She then went on to win junior titles at both national and international levels, including the World and European Junior Cyclocross Championships, and impressive performances in the World Cup.
Talking about her move to FDJ-SUEZ, Gery said, “I am very enthusiastic about joining the team, an ideal setting that will allow me to fully develop my skills and reach new heights in the disciplines dear to me: cyclocross and road cycling. This commitment represents an invaluable opportunity for me to flourish while pursuing my passion for these two forms of cycling.”
Stephen Delcourt, the General Manager, spoke about the importance of Gery’s arrival. He said, “Célia’s arrival is a key moment in our mission to cultivate exceptional talents and guide them to the top of our sport. We are eager to support her on her journey, striving for the best performances in cyclocross and on the road. Integrating her into our team is a privilege. Her confidence in our vision and our ability to develop the best cyclists in our sport is the realisation of our sporting project. Within our team, Célia can count on the support of her teammates and the entire staff to aid her progression.”
By bringing Gery into the team, FDJ-SUEZ aims to provide an environment where she can continue to grow and excel. Gery will remain a key figure in AS Bike for cyclocross and will also represent FDJ-SUEZ on the road.
Celia Gery came to wider notice as the rider who was downed by a team car in the French junior road race championships this year. She was able to get back up and continue to win the race.
