Cofidis has made a significant move in preparing for the next season by signing four talented riders to its women’s team. The new additions – Amalie Dideriksen, Marion Borras, Nadia Quagliotto, and Eugenia Bujak – bring a mix of experience, versatility, and potential, positioning Cofidis as a stronger contender in both classics and time trials.

Amalie Dideriksen, the former world champion from Denmark, joins the team on a two-year contract. At 28 years old, Dideriksen brings a wealth of experience with 14 career victories, including five national titles. Known for her sprinting ability and strong performances in the classics, she will play a pivotal role in supporting Victoire Berteau during the classics races and working alongside Valentine Fortin in sprint finishes. We are very happy to welcome a world champion to the Cofidis team. Amalie will be a key player and a major reinforcement of the team in the classics campaign, said sports director Mélanie Briot.

Joining Dideriksen is Marion Borras, a 26-year-old French time trial specialist, also on a two-year contract. Borras, who has spent the last eight years focusing on track cycling in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, is now eager to shift her focus back to the road. She finished third in this year’s French national time trial championships and fifth at Paris-Roubaix in 2023. Briot highlighted her potential in time trials and her valuable contribution to the team’s sprint efforts, particularly in collaboration with Fortin. Marion has enormous potential, especially in time trials, and will be a valuable element in sprints, Briot remarked.

Eugenia Bujak, a 35-year-old Slovenian rider, adds further depth to the team with her vast experience. Signing a one-season contract, Bujak has 13 career victories, including the prestigious GP de Plouay in 2016. Briot praised Bujak’s addition, noting her crucial role in supporting Berteau and her potential to secure individual victories. Eugenia’s experience in the Women’s World Tour will be a real asset for the development of our team, Briot said, recognising Bujak’s versatility and leadership qualities.

Rounding out the new signings is Nadia Quagliotto, a 27-year-old Italian climber, who joins on a two-year contract. Quagliotto, previously with Laboral Kutxa – Fundacion Euskadi, is known for her climbing skills but is also expected to make an impact in the classics. Her past performances include a second place on a Giro d’Italia stage and strong showings in other races. We are delighted to welcome Nadia to the team. She has been primarily used for her climbing skills, but we are convinced she can excel in the classics as well, Briot commented.

These four signings reflect Cofidis’s ambition to build a well-rounded and competitive women’s team for the upcoming season. With a mix of experienced leaders and promising talents, the team is poised to make significant strides across various races and terrains.
