Coryn Labecki moving to new EF Education-Cannondale team in 2024

Coryn Labecki

EF Education-Cannondale has confirmed the signing of American rider Coryn Labecki to the team in 2024. The accomplished American cyclist has a preference for one-day events and challenging routes. Her achievements include stage wins in the Giro Donne, the Lotto Belgium Tour, and the Women’s Tour. Additionally, she has triumphed in single-day events like the Tour of Flanders, RideLondon Classique, and Trofeo Alfredo Binda. Labecki has also been victorious in team time trials at various championships, including the world championships.

Interestingly, Labecki’s first-ever road bike was a Cannondale. So, joining EF Education-Cannondale feels like a homecoming for her, taking her back to where her journey began. Raised in California, she took to racing at the young age of 11, exploring various cycling disciplines such as cyclocross, mountain biking, track cycling, and road racing. Over two decades, Labecki has amassed more than 70 national titles in different categories. Among these, her 2018 American road race national title stands out as particularly memorable. Moreover, she clinched the American Criterium national championship this year. The most famous victory of her career was the 2017 Tour of Flanders.

“I’d love to get some wins. That’s my jam. To get a win next year would be beautiful and it’s also an Olympic year which is another big goal of mine. Mostly, I just want to do whatever I can to help get some wins on the board. I just love racing and it seems like this team is going to be a really good group to enjoy racing with. I love that all-or-nothing mentality of one-day races. I like really punchy courses, something really dynamic that’s up and down all day, especially if there’s a slightly uphill finish that’s not too long. Races like that normally suit me really well.”

“Coryn is super smart when it comes to analysing races, seeing what happened and what happened with other teams, and understanding their tactics. She’s also a winner of some really big races so she knows how to deal with pressure. That kind of experience will help with some of her less experienced teammates. Coryn is a really big believer in finding balance in focus and enjoying the time on the road.”
