Career overview
Tekeste has been part of Eritrea’s women’s road cycling scene during a period of growing African championship strength. She won the Eritrean national road race title in 2019 and later added the national time-trial title in 2022. That same season, she was part of Eritrea’s winning squad in the African Championships team time-trial, riding with Monalisa Araya, Adiam Dawit and Milena Gebrekrstos. Tekeste has also earned African-level under-23 time-trial medals and represented Eritrea across continental road events, helping broaden the country’s presence in women’s cycling beyond its established men’s road tradition.
