The World Championships in Zürich ended on a sour note for the Dutch women. Demi Vollering bore the brunt of the criticism, accused of derailing her own team and then missing out on a medal herself. Following the backlash, the 27-year-old cyclist has sought some respite, as she reveals through an Instagram story.

Vollering’s Need for Distraction

In her recent Instagram posts, Vollering shows her efforts to find distraction just two days after the disappointing World Championships. The images capture her training in Switzerland alongside her sister, Bodine Vollering, and her partner, Jan de Voogd. Vollering has been residing in Switzerland for several years now.

One of the photos from the training session shows Vollering smiling again, though it’s evident the World Championships are still on her mind. “Looking for some distraction,” she writes, accompanied by a picture of the Swiss mountains.

As Vollering continues to train and recover from the recent events, her focus now seems to be on moving forward. The photos and messages on Instagram offer a glimpse of her personal journey as she navigates the aftermath of the World Championships.
