Career overview
Bäckstedt emerged as one of Britain’s strongest junior riders, winning junior Gent-Wevelgem in 2019 and taking bronze in the junior World Championship time-trial in both 2018 and 2019. She joined Trek-Segafredo in 2020, later continuing with the squad as Lidl-Trek, but her early elite seasons were disrupted by significant injury setbacks. A strong all-rounder with road, track and cyclocross background, Bäckstedt has developed into a valuable team rider in Classics and stage races. She moved to UAE Team ADQ in 2025 on a three-year deal running through 2027, joining a squad built around growing GC and one-day race depth.
