Teuntje Beekhuis chose to attack throughout the stage and was in the front group with seven other riders. At five kilometres from the finish the group saw how some riders, including Koster, joined the head of the race. In the subsequent sprint, Kopecky was the fastest.
Sports director Lieselot Decroix was pleased with the performance of her team. “We had made a plan in advance. The riders all executed this well. We were riding well, so we could anticipate all sorts of situations. Teuntje was in the front group of the race for a long time. Then a few other riders, including Anouska, joined in. Eventually she finished third in the sprint. That’s a result we can be satisfied with for today.”
