Marianne Vos has confirmed she will kick off her 2025 season at the Trofeo Alfredo Binda on 16th March, before heading to the newly rebooted Sanremo Women as part of an early Italian block of racing.
Vos shared the news on Instagram, writing:
“Been a bit off the radar, but happy things are moving in the right direction. After a solid training block in Costa Blanca, currently soaking up the vibes on the south coast of Tenerife before heading towards El Teide for a few weeks of altitude.
The race itch is kicking in and canโt wait to kick off the classics season with @teamvisma_leaseabike_women @cyclingsportpromotion and @milanosanremo_ in Italy.”
A four-time winner of Trofeo Alfredo Binda, Vos previously took victories in 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2019. Her last podium at the race came in 2021, when she finished second behind Elisa Longo Borghini. With the addition of Sanremo Women to the calendar, Vos will have a strong run of racing in Italy to start her spring classics campaign.
Beyond the early season, Vos has already confirmed that the Tour de France Femmes remains a major objective for her in 2025. The Dutch rider won the green jersey in last yearโs edition and is eager to return to La Grande Boucle. Back in January, she said:
“The Tour is always a major goal for me. I want to perform at my best and support the team as much as I can. We have a strong group, and Iโm excited to fight together for great results.”
With her season opener now set, Vos will look to add another victory to her impressive record at Trofeo Alfredo Binda before turning her focus to the rest of the spring campaign.
