Marion Borras re-signs with St Michel-Mavic-Auber93

Marion Borras

Emerging as a prominent figure in this year’s Paris-Roubaix Femmes with a commendable fifth-place finish, Marion Borras further consolidated her status by claiming the same position at the French Time Trial Championships, a feat even more remarkable given her recent recovery from injury. The upcoming 2024 season promises to be a busy period for Borras as she fine-tunes her preparations for the Paris Olympics, where she might compete in the Team Pursuit. On the road too, the calendar is brimming with significant events, including the French Time Trial Championships.

Her sporting director, Charlotte Bravard, emphasised the importance of retaining Borras for the next season: “In her first year at the elite level, Marion has been nothing short of impressive. She will continue to juggle her dual focus on track and road cycling, setting ambitious goals in both disciplines.”

For Borras herself, the contract renewal with her team couldn’t have come at a better time. “I feel at home with the team and am thriving in my dual role. With the Paris Olympics on the horizon, 2024 is set to be an intense year. However, my eagerness to excel on the road beforehand remains high,” she affirmed, extending her gratitude to the team for their continued trust in her abilities.

With targets in both track and road cycling, a comprehensive and challenging schedule awaits her. And if her recent performances are anything to go by, Borras will be one of the athletes to keep an eye on, both in the velodrome and on the tarmac.

Her knack for bouncing back from setbacks, coupled with a supportive team infrastructure, makes her a formidable contender. Above all, her dual focus on track and road cycling not only illustrates the range of her talent but also adds an intriguing layer of complexity to her sporting journey. With the Paris Olympics as a centrepiece, the forthcoming season could very well be the canvas on which Marion Borras paints her masterpiece.
