INEOS Grenadiers has confirmed that Tom Pidcock will leave the team at the end of the season, marking the end of a four-year tenure with the British outfit. The announcement, made on 4th December, has already sparked discussions about potential future destinations for the versatile British rider.
Reflecting on Pidcockโs time with the team, INEOS Grenadiers CEO John Allert shared his thoughts on the riderโs contribution. โWeโre really proud of the work weโve done with Tom to help him achieve some extraordinary and memorable moments,โ he stated. โTogether weโve written a powerful chapter and shown how exciting and diverse professional cycling can be. Tom has some big multi-disciplinary goals, and we believe this decision enables both of us to pursue our future ambitions with clarity, purpose and determination. We thank Tom for the last four years and wish him the best of luck for the future.โ
Pidcock, known for his success across road, mountain biking, and cyclocross disciplines, has been a key figure at INEOS Grenadiers since joining in 2021. During his tenure, he became synonymous with iconic moments in the sport, including his Tour de France stage victory on Alpe dโHuez and the Olympic mountain bike gold medal in Tokyo. The move today will free up the rumoured 2.7 million base salary earned by Pidcock whilst at INEOS.
Speculation about Pidcockโs next move has already begun to dominate the transfer market. Reports have linked him with Q365 and Bora-Red Bull, though no official confirmation has been made. His departure also creates a notable vacancy within INEOS Grenadiers, with rumours suggesting Maxim van Gils could step into the role. The Belgian recently left Lotto Dstny after cutting short his contract and has also been associated with Astana.
