Roland Pro Cycling announces new base in Le Dévoluy as part of expanded new sponsorship deal

Roland Pro Cycling has unveiled a new strategic partnership with Le Dévoluy that will see the Hautes-Alpes region become both the team’s official training base and a new jersey sponsor. The announcement was made on 4th June at the Dévoluy performance centre, just weeks before the Tour de Suisse Women and the height of the summer racing calendar.

More than a traditional training camp location, the agreement reflects a deeper commitment from both sides to build a long-term alliance between elite cycling and mountain territory. The Le Dévoluy logo will now feature on the team’s jersey, reinforcing the region’s visibility on the international stage.

“Le Dévoluy wants to matter in the world of French cycling”

Speaking at the launch event, mayor Alexandra Butel described the partnership as a major step in raising the region’s profile in professional cycling. “With this partnership alongside the Roland team, we are making a clear statement,” she said. “Le Dévoluy wants to matter in the world of French cycling – not just as a place to ride through, but as an active, structuring and leading partner.”

She stressed that the goal isn’t short-term exposure, but sustainable visibility rooted in shared values: discipline, team spirit, development, and knowledge transfer.

Roland targets altitude and stability in new long-term base

Team general manager Ruben Contreras emphasised that choosing a base is about far more than scenery. “For a professional cycling team, picking a home base is never trivial,” he said. “You need somewhere that combines varied, selective terrain with the right altitude, calm roads, and a positive environment for concentration and team building.”

He described Le Dévoluy as ticking every box – both geographically and culturally. “This is a preserved landscape with ideal conditions for endurance work, and a community that genuinely understands and supports sporting ambition,” Contreras added.

The partnership strengthens Roland’s French-Swiss identity at a time when the team is increasing its presence across European races. With Le Dévoluy now featured on the jersey, the link between territory and team will be highly visible throughout the Women’s WorldTour.

Engagement beyond competition: schools, youth and local sport

The partnership also includes a strong developmental angle, with Roland Pro Cycling pledging to deliver school visits, youth cycling clinics, and athlete meet-and-greets across the Dévoluy area. These actions are due to begin this season and aim to embed cycling more deeply in the local community.

“This is a partnership that works both ways,” Contreras said. “Le Dévoluy will gain European visibility, and we gain not only a world-class training environment but also real human and logistical support.”

With the Le Dévoluy branding now integrated into the team’s visual identity and a high-altitude base locked in, Roland Pro Cycling enters the summer phase of the 2025 season with renewed ambition – and a clear sense of place.
