Shari Bossuyt will return to the peloton with AG Insurance-Soudal, with her comeback scheduled to begin from mid-June. The Belgian rider has been away from racing recently due to a well-publicised ban, but has been on the team’s training programme from 15th April.

The move marks a new chapter for Bossuyt, who has spent time away from the sport following a period of uncertainty surrounding her career. She will now rebuild her racing condition within a structured environment at AG Insurance-Soudal.

Team CEO Jurgen Foré confirmed the decision followed “careful consideration” by the squad’s performance staff, along with open discussions involving the rider and her management.

“Shari is determined to show what she’s capable of and very hungry to race with the team,” said Foré. “We believe that Shari has a great future ahead of her, and that the team can be a perfect environment for her to make this happen.”

Bossuyt was equally upbeat about the opportunity to restart her professional journey. “This is a fresh start, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity,” she said. “I’ve missed the rhythm of racing, being part of a team and the challenge, and I’m ready to give it everything.”

The team has not yet confirmed which races Bossuyt will target, but her reintegration from mid-June aligns with the build-up to a busy summer calendar.

Before her ban, Bossuyt had won stages at the Tour de Normandie Féminin and Watersley Challenge, plus the Belgium U23 ITT National Championship.
