Italian rider Silvia Persico has announced her return to cyclocross, which will come near the end of November. The world championship bronze medal winner will begin at home in Italy, racing the smaller races there leading up to the World Cup event in Val di Sole on December 17th. Once that race is completed, she will race the major cross races in Belgium and the Netherlands across the Christmas period. November 26th will be her first race at Gran Premio Val Fontanabuona.
“Cycling has really helped me this year to be good on the road. It was a great season for me. It will be difficult in cyclocross, there are so many strong riders. The young riders really go full throttle straight away, I don’t know what that will be like for me. In any case, it will be difficult.
My God, [Fem]’s really strong. I’ve ridden with her more often in recent years,. I think she has made a lot of progress in recent months. I like the way she races. She is also intelligent and she is good at finding the right moment to attack. I love her as a cyclist.”Silvia Persico
