On Sunday the NXTG riders race in Belgium again in the SPAR Flanders Diamond Tour. Sports director Brent Van Ballenberghe takes Roos Ammerlaan, Shari Bossuyt, Mylène de Zoete, Emily Wadsworth, Maud Rijnbeek and Cathalijne Hoolwerf to the 136-kilometre race around Nijlen.
The race is almost entirely flat so I expect a bunch sprint on Sunday. The roads are wide and we have two easy to navigate cobbled sectors to navigate each lap.”
Mylène de Zoete is the designated sprinter for this flat course and looks forward to racing again.
We didn’t have a lot of races recently but I spent my time well. I went on a training camp with the track team on Mallorca plus we raced Dwars door het Hageland last week. On Saturday we have a sponsor ride at Vandersanden so that also serves as good race preparation. I expect it to be sprint in Nijlen on Sunday. The course is very flat. I am confident in Emily to guide me through the final kilometres and get me in the best possible position for the bunch sprint.”
