Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank welcomes Veronica Ewers

Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank is excited to welcome Veronica Ewers to the squad! The 27-year-old talent from Seattle, Washington, has signed with the team for two seasons (2022-2023), and can’t wait to explore her athletic potential in Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank colors.

Earlier this summer, Ewers sky-rocketed onto the professional racing scene at the US Pro Cycling National Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. The 27-year-old turned heads as she mixed it up with the best in the country and came away with an impressive bronze.

Ewer’s potential continued to shine this past week when she claimed second overall at the Joe Martin Stage Race in Fayetteville, Arkansas while representing Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank for the first time.

“I am so looking forward to racing alongside the other strong women of Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank and representing a team whose mission is to help women like me achieve their goals of becoming international competitors,” Ewers said.

Despite being relatively new to the cycling world, Ewers is no stranger to competitive athletics. She played Division III soccer at Willamette University in Salem, Ore., while double majoring in Spanish and anthropology. Her bike racing career began in 2018, after a running friend encouraged Ewers to attend a Fount Cycling Guild meet-up. From there, as they say, the rest is history.

“I began and grew with Fount Cycling Guild through which I gained amazing teammates and friends,” Ewers said. “I will miss them as I move onto this next chapter in my cycling career and am very fortunate to know that I will always have their support. As a new member of Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank in its first year as a Women’s World Tour team, I am excited for the opportunity to be challenged at the highest level.”

“I am thrilled to welcome Veronica to the team,” team founder Linda Jackson said. “She is an incredible athlete with a ton of potential, and she has already settled into our team nicely. Veronica comes to us from Jennifer Wheeler’s team, Fount Cycling Guild. Jennifer rode for us back in 2011/2012, so it’s especially poignant to me to be bringing on one of her riders. Jennifer has done a terrific job bringing women like Veronica into the sport from diverse backgrounds. We are looking forward to having Veronica join us in Europe for some racing, and excited about the years to come.”

Ewers will join the squad in France for the upcoming Tour Cycliste Feminin International de l’Ardeche, to be held from September 8 to 14.
