This weekend the IV Women’s Trophy of the Estella-Lizarra City Council will be held, the seventh scoring event for the Copa de España Féminas Cofidis. Susana Pérez won the last test held in the Murcian town of Abanilla and became the leader of the Spanish Cup in the sub-23 category, so she will try to keep that precious jersey for the Rio Miera-Cantabria Sport.
Cadets
On Saturday at 4:00 p.m. the competition will start with the cadets, who will face a circular route of about 40 kilometres that will pass through Zubielqui, Murieta, Legaria and the Igúzquiza peak, starting from this point the path of return to the place of departure. María Filgueiras is our highest ranked rider overall.
Junior
Starting at 6:00 p.m., the junior category will also do this winding route, completing a total of 77.7 kilometres. Carolina Leonardo will fight to climb positions in general.
Elite and Under-23
During the day on Sunday, around 10:00 am, the elite and sub-23 race over 102 kilometers will take place. They will climb the top of Lazáun and the climb to Irache twice, ending the route in the streets of Estella. Susana Pérez will try to continue with her good form and maintain the leadership in the sub-23 category.
The team’s Sports Director Roberto San Emeterio is pleased that “Susana achieved a great victory and the lead in the under-23 classification in the previous test in Abanilla. We will try to defend that position in Estella since it is something that excites us a lot. In cadets and juniors we will fight to be at the top in the races”.
