ToggleWho taught you how to ride a bike & how old were you?
My coach taught how to ride a bike. He is the bike shop owner from which I bought my first road bike. I was 20 years old.
What was your first ‘proper’ road bike & what colour was it?
It was a red and white Specialized Amira with some black lines. It was such a beautiful bike to me.
What’s the most important piece of kit/advice that has helped boost your performance?
Itโs a difficult question.
For performance, itโs important for me to have a well-cleaned & well-maintained bike.
What’s your favourite routes/places to ride?
When I stay my base in Europe, I always ride โArdennesโ area. Itโs my fav area. Mostly I ride from Maastricht towards Bastogne (but not to Bastogne ????Itโs too far.) There is no long long climb but lots of ups & downs with nice landscapes ????
Also I like anywhere to go to for races or a training camp. Because itโs almost always new roads for me.
What tips do you have to keep the love of cycling going amidst all the training?
I always put some treats in my pocket (ex. waffles for long rides ????) & on easy rides, I usually get a stop for coffee โ๏ธ.
I make something an achievement for keeping the love & motivating as well ????
What experiences are still to do on your cycling ‘bucket list’?
Umm ???? itโs a lot!
I would like to โWINโ one day in Europe ???? Itโs the hardest โBucket listโ, isnโt it. I need training harder, getting stronger and some luck ????????
