Who taught you how to ride a bike & how old were you?

I got on the first bike at 2 years old, it was 3-wheeled, then there was a bike with 2 small wheels at the back for safety, I got on the first 2-wheeled bike at 7 years old.

What was your first ‘proper’ road bike & what colour was it?

The first road bike was a Fausto Coppi on coins, I was 15 years old at that time.

What’s the most important piece of kit/advice that has helped boost your performance?

The most important advice was and is if something does not work out, then it needs a little more time.

What’s your favourite routes/places to ride?

I love the seashore when there is an opportunity to go along the sea and listen to the waves, or to go through mountain passes.

What tips do you have to keep the love of cycling going amidst all the training?

There are no tips For the love of sports, for whom it is a lifestyle, for someone freedom and self-expression, for whom fame, and for me, it’s just happiness to do what I like.

What experiences are still to do on your cycling ‘bucket list’?

I would love to take part in all the famous races, whether they are classic one-day races, or the main multi-day races
